Although Ravenswood is best known for their terrific Zinfandels, they also make an attractive Merlot. The deeply-colored 1992 Vintner's Blend offers a straightforward, enticing nose of spices, black-cherries, and underbrush, followed by excellent richness, chewy, glycerin-imbued fatness, and a tasty, fleshy finish. It is a delightful, surprisingly intense Merlot for drinking over the next 4-5 years.
