The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly had already been bottled just prior to harvest (it takes place either before or after.) It has a lively bouquet with freshly squeezed lime, dewy green apples and a distant flinty scent. The palate is well balanced and disguises the 20% new oak with ease – it is barely noticeable. The palate is clean and fresh with good acidity, a dash of spice on the finish completing this En Remilly with style. My only quibble: I would have liked a little more depth and persistence in the mouth, though maybe that will develop in bottle.
