The 2006 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau Cuvee Paul-Emilie boasts abundant aromas of chocolate, black cherries, mocha, garrigue, licorice, and earth, followed by sweet blackberry and cherry fruit flavors, a full-bodied, expansive mouthfeel, and a long, 45-second finish. While it is already drinkable, its balance and depth suggest it will last for 12-15 years.
One of the up-and-coming stars of the southern Rhone is the Domaine Bressy-Masson. They normally produce three cuvees, all of them exciting.
