Positioning itself as a serious Carmenere, and succeeding, this is an impressively concentrated wine. It shows layers of ripe black and red berry fruits, creamy oak, chocolate, sweet spice, minerals and soft tannins. Plus, the structure is in place for it to be regarded as more than just a party quaffer.

It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed this wine, so this is a fine comeback. Plum, blackberry and rubber aromas are solid, but the real star is the palate, which is smooth and thick, with lush dark fruit flavors and a smoky background.
