The 1998 Brouilly Chateau de Nervers is medium to dark ruby/purple-colored, and has a nose reminiscent of a Pommard. Juicy black cherries, intermingled with blackberries, emanate from the glass. This is a firm, foursquare wine with loads of plummy, fig, and cherry fruit. Whereas I have some concerns about the Pierreux's fruit outlasting the tannin, none exist about the Nervers. This wine will be at its best between 2000 and 2003.Importers are William Deutsche and Sons Ltd., White Plains, NY; tel (914) 251-9463, and Winesellers Ltd., Skokie, IL; tel.
