The estate’s Cairanne release, the 2013 Cairanne Maximilien checks in as a blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah that was raised all in concrete tanks and bottled unfiltered. Its deep ruby, purple color is followed by a rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied wine that has lots of red and black fruits, crushed flowers, lavender and assorted meatiness. Possessing the most density and extract in the lineup, it’s a ripe, rounded and Provencal-styled effort to drink over the coming 4-5 years.
