Not unexpectedly, this is one of the most stunning wines of my 1985 tastings. The wine possesses all the elements of great Cabernet Sauvignon - a sensationally opaque purple color, a huge, smoky, vanillin, wonderfully ripe cassis-scented nose that leaps from the glass, layers of lavishly rich, opulent, velvety-textured Cabernet fruit, medium to full body, sweet tannin, and adequate acidity for focus. This gorgeously rich, yet still young, unevolved, tasty Cabernet Sauvignon has another 15-20 years of evolution ahead.
