The superb 1997 WeiBburgunder Ruster Ausbruch Essenz "Kurt" is an apricot jam, honey, and papaya-scented wine. Its full-bodied, viscous, and tangy character is decadently unctuous. Loads of apricots and tropical fruits, as well as bananas, can be found in this intensely sweet, forward offering. While it obviously has good acidity, it is doubtful that it is high enough to face its monstrously powerful fruit, and therefore this wine should be drunk in the near-term.
