The 2001 Gisele, the house Merlot, is not quite at the level of the sumptuous 1997, but it still counts as one of the important red wines of the zone with its smoky and plummy nose. It also features incense and sandalwood in its lovely broad and ample palate. It is mouth-filling and sweet, with a plushy, caressing texture on the finish. Drink: 2005-2014.
