Bottled for the first time, the 2014 Nierstein Riesling Trocken is from a biodynamically farmed plot in the Orbel, which Wittmann is renting from St. Antony. It opens with an enchantingly aromatic, elegant bouquet of tropical fruits, ripe apricots and nectarines underlined by fine spicy notes from the iron-rich Rotliegend soil, as well as the 600-liter barrels in which this wine was fermented and aged. Intense and full-bodied, full-flavored and powerful on the palate, this Nierstein Riesling also reveals a great elegance and finesse. Silky textured and juicy, it finishes with refreshing lemon and orange flavors.
