The 2013 Vosne-Romanee Village, which comes from Bernard’s parcels close to Clos de Vougeot, was reduced to two barrels and a feuillette because of hail damage. Matured entirely in new oak, it has a ripe black cherry and cassis-scented bouquet, quite floral and fulsome. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins. Moderate weight with a touch of vanillary new wood on the finish. Personally, I would have reduced the amount of new wood here as it is speaking too loud.
