There's a pervasive beet-like character on the nose of Tapanappa's 2018 Pinot Noir Foggy Hill Vineyard. There are ripe cherries too, plus hints of pencil shavings and herbal nuances. In the mouth, it's medium-bodied, framed by silky tannins and gentle acids, but it fades a bit quickly on the finish, where those beets return, lending a rich, loamy note.
