Ascending dramatically in residual sugar, yet due to a uniquely Mosel balance with acidity and extract not tasting at all obviously sweet, is the 2004 Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Spatlese. Aromas of grapefruit, lime, banana and sour sop lead into a palate that is creamy and rich yet quite transparent to mineral nuance and briskly refreshing in its citricity. The strong finish displays subtle salt and wet stone mineral expressions along with luscious citrus.
