The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigneto Poggio Doria shows tight contours and pretty delineation. There is a point of softness and extra fleshiness that underlines the fruit's ripeness. Back cherry, pressed raspberry and blackberry preserves play prominent roles. Nuanced tones of smoke, balsam herb and crushed mineral appear at the back and add more complexity. In the mouth, however, the wine is more stripped down and sports a mid-weight style. This Riserva ends on an elegant note.
