A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Gewurztraminer, the 2009 “Black Label” White has an attractive bouquet of white peach, almond and jasmine that is very well defined with good intensity. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with crisp acidity, leading to a taut, almost waxy-textured finish that will need two to three years in bottle to unwind. This is a very fine Emporda white. Drink 2014-2018.
The wines from Oliver Conti just missed my report from Catalonia earlier this year.
