The estate’s 2009 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Mazzamarello wraps around the palate with layers of silky dark, red fruit. This is an especially polished, refined Montepulciano that shows the more elegant side of what this grape is capable of. Sweet floral and spice notes add even more finesse to the long, supple finish. This juicy, expressive red is a terrific effort from Torre dei Beati. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019.
