All Marsanne, from a vineyard that will no longer be considered Saint Joseph going forward (it exceeds the 350-meter altitude limit of the appellation), the 2017 Saint Joseph Blanc Sainte Epine is barrel fermented in one-third new oak. It offers delicate aromas of toasted marshmallow, a pleasant roundness and silky texture in the mouth and a long, smooth finish. I recommend drinking it on the young side, but I wouldn't be surprised to discover it can age a decade or so.
