The 1999 Domaine de Pierredon (a blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre) reveals notes of underbrush, black cherries, and cassis, a soft, plump texture with astonishing richness for a wine of this price range, decent acidity, and a nicely-textured, ripe, heady finish. It was vinified and aged with virtually no SO2 adjustments. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. A Patrick Lesec Selection, various American importers, including Adventures in Wine, Daly City, CA; tel.
