The 1989 Chambert-Marbuzet exhibits plenty of toasty new oak, an exotic bouquet of black fruits and spices, is exuberantly fruity, soft, medium-bodied, and finishes with a whopping blow of alcohol and smooth tannins. It is flashy, but lacking some substance in the mid-palate. Drink it over the next 6-7 years. Anticipated maturity: Now-1995.
