The Santa Sofia 2017 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore (made with 70% Corvina and Corvinone plus 30% Rondinella) is a full and generous expression that offers loads of dark fruit, spice, tobacco and sweet tarry smoke. These pretty results are shaped by a hot vintage and by the unique ripasso process that always adds more depth and intensity (a second fermentation is completed by adding fresh wine to dry Amarone skins). This wine has the depth and power to pair with a sizzling platter of spicy steak fajitas. Some 80,000 bottles were made.
