A blend of 60% Grenache and 20% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, with 30% aged in barriques, the 2017 Cairanne Domaine Grosset outshines the Creation Grosset this vintage, with subtle cedar and baking-spice notes layered over cherries and black raspberries. Medium to full-bodied, it's creamy and ripe but with crisp acids on the finish. Tasted twice, with one bottle seeming less textured and having a bitter edge. The review reflects the better bottle.
