The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Montmains was picked on September 29, the last of Drouin's vineyards to be harvested. It has a refined bouquet with touches of mirabelle and honeysuckle on the nose, granite and slate notes tucked in just behind. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite tensile and energetic. it has crisp citrus fruit lining up on the finish. It deserves 3-4 years in bottle, but it should turn into a fine Montmains.
