The Boucherottes 1970 has a beautiful bouquet with lifted, very well-defined scents of red berries, crushed stone, orange blossom and even a hint of aniseed. There is great precision here - very impressive for a 1970. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, pepper red fruit and a firm backbone. It might lack the flair of a more auspicious climate, but there is wonderful focus and depth here, still vital after 42 years. Excellent. Tasted December 2012.
