Zeni's 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella Barriques is a house blend of 60% Corvina, 20% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella that sees anywhere between four and five years of appassimento, depending on the vintage. As the wine name suggests, this wine is aged in oak, specifically 14 months of French barrique. The results are rich, sweet and succulent (with seven grams per liter of residual sugar), and the alcohol is hard to miss at 16%. This is a full-bodied red wine with thick layers of black fruit and spice. Some 20,000 bottles were made.
