This may not have the complexity of some of the country’s best Pinots, but this is still a fine example of what New Zealand can do with the variety. Clean black cherry fruit is accented by touches of vanilla and dried spices, while the mouthfeel is soft, with well-concealed tannin. The finish is finely textured, adding lingering notes of cinnamon and clove.——J.C.(7/1/2007)—— 88
