The 2005 Langhe Freisa Kye is almost as fantastic as the 2006. This is a more medium-bodied Kye with lovely notes of tobacco, wild herbs, leather and licorice that add complexity to the dark fruit. The wine reveals gorgeous inner sweetness and tons of finesse in a medium-bodied style. Clean, mineral notes frame the chiseled, energetic finish. The 2005 Kye is a wonderful wine to enjoy over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015.
