The 1990 Barbera d'Asti Superiore is supposed to be a more ambitious and serious wine than the regular bottling of the Cascina Castlet's 1990 Barbera d'Asti. It exhibits some toasty oak notes, more tannin, and an unclean lees-like note to the otherwise satisfactory bouquet. It is a more backward, less flattering wine that may be "bigger" than its sibling, but it is obviously not better. No known American importer.
