Interesting and complex , the stylish 1997 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is made from the Dijon clone 115 and the Pommard clone. It possesses a medium ruby color, attractive, deeper, richer, black cherry and cassis aromas, excellent ripeness on the attack, medium body, firm tannin, and a pure style with a subtle influence of wood. This wine will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring and keep for nearly a decade.
Ted Lemon told me that he did a saignee of all his 1997 Pinots because of high yields, and that all of these wines were scheduled to be bottled with neither fining nor filtration.
As I said before, virtually the entire production of Littorai is sold via a mailing list ... readers take note. Tel. (707) 963-4762; Fax (707) 963-7332
