The 1986 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru from Drouhin has a fully mature tea leaf and Japanese green tea-scented bouquet, a bit rustic and ragged at the seams perhaps, though nothing offensive. I did detect some volatile acidity coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with rustic, dry tannin. Grainy and masculine in texture, the finish feels austere, suggesting it is a few years past its peak. Tasted November 2016.
