The purple-colored 2001 Vendimia Seleccionada is made up of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 10% Tempranillo aged for 11 months in equal parts French and American oak. It offers an already complex aromatic array of cedar, spice box, cassis, mineral, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, elegantly styled, and Bordeaux-like, on the palate it has gobs of savory fruit, lots of spice notes, excellent balance, and a pleasure-bent personality. Drink this tasty effort through 2016.
