The Fabrizio Dionisio 2018 Cortona Syrah Il Castagno is a wine of considerable fruit weight and concentration, with generous oak spice and smoke. You get dark fruit, cassis, dried blackberry, spice, tar and tobacco. This is the essence of Syrah from a warm and sunny climate such as Cortona in Tuscany. The oak emerges strong in this vintage (but you get terrific value nonetheless).
