The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru le Cailleret has an attractive, wily bouquet with subtle citrus fruit, peppermint and licorice scents that discretely unfold in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity and very good length, although at this early stage it does not quite possess the complexity or the mineral core of say, the Folatieres or the Pucelles. This is much more conservative, but it should still drink well for the next two decades.
