The 2009 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo I Vasari Old Vines opens to significant aromas of candied fruit, plum, roasted chestnut and more dark fruit. This is a nicely focused and enriched expression that hits all the high notes. Stefano Chioccioli is the consulting winemaker and is known for his clean and uncompromising style. This Montepulciano is aged in French oak for 16 months.

Notes of mocha and graphite accent this polished red, which features supple tannins finely layered with juicy flavors of ripe black cherry, black licorice and herb-marinated olive, followed by a lasting finish.
