The 2008 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo I Vasari Old Vines bursts from the glass with an exciting melange of dark red cherries, grilled herbs, smoke, tar and licorice. Deceptively medium in body, the 2008 possesses a gorgeous sense of energy and pure tension that serves to balance some of the more overt elements in the glass.
