The white wines begin with the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc Horse Heaven Vineyard which contains 11% Semillon. It saw 78% of the wine fermented in stainless steel and 22% barrel fermented with sur lie aging for 1 month. Medium straw in color with aromas of citrus, fresh cut grass, and herbs with a hint of buttered popcorn in the background, on the palate it is crisp, lively, and concentrated. This well-balanced, medium-bodied effort will pair nicely with mussels and goat cheese over the next 1-2 years. Chateau Ste. Michelle continues to produce large quantities of quality wine at exceptionally fair prices.www.ste-michelle.com
