The outstanding Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Garenne Duc de Magenta has a fresh earth and stone-scented nose. This full-bodied, mouth-filling, and explosive wine is dense yet refined. Candle wax, white peaches, and clay can be found in its powerful, harmonious, and concentrated flavor profile. It may ultimately merit a more glowing review if it resolves the slight warmth (alcohol) I detected in its finish. Drink it between 2001 and 2006.Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; (212) 490-9300.
