Whereas the 2005 Tappa Pass was accessible upon release, the 2006 is somewhat closed, with hints of asphalt dampening the floral and mocha aromas. It’s a medium to full-bodied Shiraz loaded with complex notes of blackberry, coffee and roasted meat, followed up with firm tannins and acids, suggesting at least 3–4 years of cellaring.
