The 2012 Gigondas is a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, that was completely destemmed, and aged 12 months in 30% 1-2 year-old barrels. It’s a solid effort that has sublte oak in its juicy berry, spice, olive and chocolate-like bouquet. This is followed by a medium-bodied, forward, well-made wine that will drink nicely through 2022.
