The 2007 TINTO “COROA D’OURO” is a typical Douro blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca. Modest in mid-palate concentration, this is nonetheless quite charming, silky and elegant, with grip and intensity on the finish. It does have some of that roasted rhubarb/wild herb nuance I have been getting on some Douro wines lately. It evolved beautifully in the glass. If you like its flavor profile, it offers considerable bang for the buck, another fine value ’07 Tinto and another fine value from this winery.
