There are 250 cases of the 2002 Petite Syrah Estate (14% alcohol). Made from cuttings taken from the Hayne Vineyard, this fabulous effort is one of the finest examples of this varietal I have recently tasted. Inky/blue/black/purple-colored to the rim, with a stunning bouquet of creosote, melted licorice, celestial black fruits, espresso roast, and white chocolate, this enormously-endowed wine possesses surprisingly ripe tannin. As it sits in the glass, violet and acacia flower-like scents also emerge. It has huge structure, but is oh, so backward. Do not touch a bottle for 8-9 years unless you want to do a roto rooter job on your upper GI tract. Fabulous! Anticipated maturity: 2011-2030+. NOTE: This is an estimated price per bottle.Tel.
