The color of this Gavi was lager gold and far darker than any other sparkling wine I tasted. The nose was also intriguing, showing mineral, earth and honey. there was no sign of fruit. It seemed very mature, but not yet old, and the flavors were easy and long. Slightly enigmatic, and with a little fruit it could have been a contender...——M.G.(12/22/2011)—— 86
