Made with late-harvest fruit in a hot and dry vintage, the 2017 Vermentino di Gallura Vendemmia Tardiva Sciala is a robust and powerful wine executed in a dry style. That 14.5% alcoholic content makes this a good choice for any pasta dish rich in milky cream sauce with some lemon zest and black pepper sprinkled over the top. The wine presents aromas of orchard and tropical fruits, and winemaking includes a complicated process involving oak, cement and stainless steel. Production is 20,000 bottles strong.

Made with late-harvest fruit, the 2015 Vermentino di Gallura Vendemmia Tardiva Sciala is a wine of length and personality. It does not show any evident residual sugar, but you do notice that extra softness and richness on the palate. This Vermentino ferments in three different vessels: cement, oak and stainless steel. It is then aged in those three materials for six months before going into bottle. Tropical fruit, pear and Golden Delicious apple emerge from the pretty bouquet. It should evolve over the next 5 years or more.
