Dominique Haverlan comes from a long line of vignerons and for the past two decades has ranked as a benchmark pro?ducer of Graves wines. His merlot-driven red is made from stringently selected fruit and barrel-matured for twelve months. The estate's second wine is the Benjamin de Vieux Chateau Gaubert. The white wine also sees wood, and is fermented and raised on lees for nine months. Chateau Gaubert may have some catching up to do in terms of aromatic precision and elegant composition, but it remains a top Graves nonetheless.
