Valle Reale’s 2010 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Vigna di Capestrano is frankly eye-opening with regards to the potential of Trebbiano. It brings together serious intensity, power and structure in an intense, exotic style that is hugely appealing. The 2010 was made with natural yeasts and bottled unfiltered, so the color is a bit cloudy, which is normal for wines made with this approach. Simply put, the Vigna di Capestrano is absolutely delicious. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
Valle Reale is another of my favorite properties in Abruzzo.
