The supple 1993 Pinot Noir Estate Barrel Aged displays straightforward, vanillin and berry-scented fruit. It is ideal for drinking over the next 2 years. Tualatin has generally made better Chardonnays than Pinot Noirs, but I was unimpressed with their 1992 Barrel Fermented and 1992 Private Reserve Chardonnays. On the other hand, the Pinot Noirs have shown improvement. Although they are not among the leaders of Oregon Pinot, they are pleasant, straightforward, herbaceous, cherry-scented wines with soft textures and plenty of delicious fruit. Tel. (503) 357-5005.
