The 2012 Collio Friulano boasts an initially mild and tame bouquet that revs up slowly in the glass. There are dusty mineral notes followed by characteristic layers of pear, peach and Golden Delicious apple that appear so readily with Friulano. Another characteristic of this indigenous grape is the smooth textural richness it shows. You get plenty of that as well. This is an outstanding rendition of the grape. Drink: 2014-2018. I am happily impressed by Toros. The wines show impeccable aromas and beautiful density in the mouth. Each wine is a wonderful portrait of an individual grape variety. Importer: T. The 2010 Friulano is one of the bigger wines I tasted in this vintage. Succulent yellow stone fruits, flowers, mint and light floral honey are some of the notes that are woven in a textured fabric of notable class. The aromas and flavors reveal gorgeous detail and nuance from start to finish. This is a decidedly large style, but it works, as the wine finds its focus with time in the glass. The 2008 Friulano is ripe and succulent, with pretty apricots, flowers and subtle earthiness. This is an especially rich, full-bodied Friulano to enjoy over the next few years.
