The 2008 Sauvignon emerges with white peaches, sage, tomato leaf and mint in a style that captures the raciness of Sauvignon but with terrific vibrancy and balance in the fruit. This is a very typical Sauvignon from the hills of Cormons, in the Collio, and the assertive style may not be for every palate, but in this style, this it is a pretty Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014.
I was quite impressed with the wines I tasted from Toros this year. The 2008 whites are among the finest wines to emerge from this challenging harvest.
