The 2008 Sauvignon emerges with white peaches, sage, tomato leaf and mint in a style that captures the raciness of Sauvignon but with terrific vibrancy and balance in the fruit. This is a very typical Sauvignon from the hills of Cormons, in the Collio, and the assertive style may not be for every palate, but in this style, this it is a pretty Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. I was quite impressed with the wines I tasted from Toros this year. The 2008 whites are among the finest wines to emerge from this challenging harvest. Importer: T. The 2007 Sauvignon combines expressive, varietal aromatics with a soft-textured core of honeyed ripe fruit. The wine offers excellent length but ultimately it reveals somewhat bitter tannins and the heavy quality that is typical of so many Friulian whites in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
