Made with 100% Sangiovese, the Tenuta degli Dei 2021 Chianti Classico Forcole (with 15,000 bottles released) shows tart cherry and cassis with potting soil, blue flower and grilled rosemary over a mid-weight finish. This is a classic expression of the grape from sunny Panzano in Chianti.

The Tenuta degli Dei 2020 Chianti Classico Forcole reveals lots of character that is all linked to Sangiovese. The wine begins with a lean-bodied texture with aromas of wild berry, tart cherry, pressed violet and sweet earth. There are some minty and herbal sensations that set the wine up for a prime pairing with a classic spaghetti cacio e pepe. You have the acidity to cut though that cheese-heavy recipe. Production of this wine is 15,000 bottles.

A well-priced red that's worthy of some veal involtini, the Tenuta degli Dei 2018 Chianti Classico Forcole is a mild, polished and beautiful wine that shines bright with cassis, bright cherry, blue flower and warm earth. This vintage shows silky consistency with smooth tannins and a long, velvety finish.

A pure expression of Sangiovese, the 2016 Chianti Classico Forcole opens to a dark appearance with dark ruby and garnet highlights. This is a generous expression of the grape that shows ample depth and intensity. This vintage shows a very sharp and chiseled quality of fruit with upfront tones of blackberry and summer cherry. Bright acidity marks the finish.

Tommaso Cavalli has long been talking about making a Chianti Classico wine, and this is my first taste of this new product. The 2015 Chianti Classico Forcole is loaded with bold primary fruit that gives the wine juicy and fresh appeal. The aromas are raw in nature, with freshly picked cherry, summer fruit and even a touch of sweet apricot. Forcole is all about the intensity of its fruit and you should drink it young. It is aged in tonneaux and cement tanks. Some 17,000 bottles were produced.
