The 2008 Merlot possesses copious quantities of white chocolate, coffee bean, black cherry and black currant characteristics. This full-bodied, lusty, heady, rich Merlot is an example of what Summers does well – over-deliver fruit, character and flavor intensity at an extremely fair price point. Summers' 1999 Merlot Knight's Valley exhibits a deep ruby/purple color in addition to a sweet bouquet of black fruits and attractive French oak. It is fleshy, with admirable density, moderate tannin, and toasty pain grille flavors intermixed with berry and cherry fruit.
