The stainless steel fermented and aged Kellerei St. Pauls 2021 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio shows zesty freshness with tart lemon, green papaya and hints of crushed limestone or chalk. This wine is simple and easy on the palate with good, but not excessive freshness. It feels light and zesty overall in the most consistent but carefree manner. The vineyards are located near the village of St. Pauls at a breezy 300-500 meters in elevation with fine sand and loamy soils of glacier origin. This is a 40,000-bottle release.

This is a classic expression of Pinot Grigio with layers of green apple, dried grass and lots of refreshing lemon or grapefruit. The St. Pauls 2020 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio promises a fresh and snappy style, with a contained 13% alcohol content, to pair with your favorite dressed-up salad. This was a production of about 26,000 bottles.

Here's an easy-drinking white wine to wash down with a summer salad made with garden-fresh cucumbers and heirloom tomatoes. The St. Pauls 2019 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is versatile and informal; it's just the ticket for this low price point. The wine opens to aromas of pear, white peach and citrus, and chalky mineral tones frame the fruit. Production is 60,000 bottles in this vintage.

Here is another textbook example of a Pinot Grigio that is all about primary intensity. The 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio shows nice citrus and white peach flavors, with some dry mineral on the close. It's an easy-drinking white to be accompanied by salads and vegetarian dishes. Production is 80,000 bottles strong.

Alto Adige is home to some of the finest and most elegant Pinot Grigios to be found. Cantina St. Pauls makes an especially focused, crisp and refreshing expression. Their 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is redolent of stone fruit, cantaloupe melon and wild sage. You do however feel the extra thickness and fruity density to emerge from this very hot and dry vintage. The finish is a tad heavy. Some 80,000 bottles were produced.
